Mosetlha Bush Camp & Eco Lodge is located in Madikwe Game Reserve. Nestled at its very heart and a real rustic gem in Madikwe's crown, you'll discover Mosetlha.

Unfenced, rustic and intimate, Mosetlha is the only truly authentic Bush Camp and genuine Eco Lodge in this 75 000 ha, malaria free, Big Five game reserve, just 3½ hours from Gauteng.

    Mosetlha is family owned and run, a rustic and intimate, unfenced Bush Camp nestled at the very heart of Madikwe. The simplicity of open fire cooking, no electricity, safari showers (with hot water!) and raised wooden cabins let you escape real life for a while to appreciate a genuine bushveld experience.

    Our guests have found that the wilderness experience is much enhanced if you can stay for at least three nights. This allows your visit to take place in a totally relaxed atmosphere and for you to see the widest variety of animals.

    We are very proud to be a part of the important Madikwe conservation initiative and look forward to welcoming you to one of its best kept secrets - the little Bush Camp where you really get the dust of Africa on your feet!

    Take advantage of the lowest rates in Madikwe Game Reserve. Enjoy the simplicity of comfortable beds in raised wooden cabins, traditional bush fare prepared on the open fire, oil lamps, donkey boilers, hot bush showers and bush toilets.

    All of these offer you the perfect mix of comfort and of really being in the bush, promising a genuine wilderness experience and a true safari adventure.

    Mosetlha Bush Camp & Eco Lodge can accommodate a maximum of 16 people in nine double cabins.

    Rates vary depending on your lodge selection, the time of year and specials available.

    Specials

    A lodge may offer special or discounted rates from time to time. Special rates are not offered during peak periods, public holidays and long-weekends, and are subject to availability.

    Our rates are fully inclusive and cover your accommodation, all meals per day, two activities a day (game drives), snacks on your drives and emergency medical evacuation insurance.

    The things you will need to bring "pocket money" for are:

    • the reserve entrance fee which we collect from you on behalf of North West Parks and Tourism Board. please note that this fee is subject to change without prior notice.
    • alcoholic and soft drinks – we sell a reasonable selection of beers, wines, spirits, fizzy drinks and mineral water
    • our Mosetlha branded clothing
    • staff gratuities.

    As we are a rustic unfenced bush camp we only accommodate children over the age of 6 years.

    Discover the rich and fascinating secrets of the African bushveld, with our skilled professional guides who take you throughout the reserve and offer you the chance to experience spectacular up close and personal sightings of the Big 5, the famous wild dogs, all other SA predators, a multitude of fat and healthy plains game and 340 bird species.

    Game drives twice a day through the entire Reserve in open 4x4's with professional guides, give you the opportunity to enjoy the fascination of the wilderness and a true safari adventure.

    The wildlife is extensive and impressive. With the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and both black and white rhino) plus the extremely rare and endangered wild dog and cheetah and almost any other predator you can think of, a multitude of plains game and the latest bird list of 340 species, Madikwe has earned its place as one of the most spectacular game viewing destinations in Southern Africa.

  • Directions

    Situated in the Madikwe Game Reserve, access to the lodge is either by road or by air. The reserve is approximately 3,5 hours' drive from Johannesburg, following the route via Zeerust before proceeding north to Madikwe and the Abjaterskop Gate (should you follow the route via Sun City proceed to the Molatedi Gate).
