Enjoy the endless malaria-free African sand veld, acacia savannah, riverine forests and wildlife in Madikwe, a world-class reserve. Surrounded by 75 000 ha of breath-taking scenery and tranquil acacia savannah, Madikwe offers an ideal spot for an African wildlife safari getaway. Located only four and a half hours from Gauteng, or a mere 45 minutes by aircraft, it is easily accessible for both local and international visitors.
Experience our safaris in 4x4 vehicles in the untamed wilderness of the Kalahari Thornveld, which is home to 66 large mammal species and 350 bird species. Special sightings could include African wild dogs, cheetah, leopard, lion, white and black rhino, buffalo, elephant and maybe even the elusive aardwolf.
The gorgeous outdoor Boma, located on a central island in the river, is accessed via a wooden bridge. This is where early morning breakfasts are served, under sprawling Acacia trees. Leisurely, fine-dining dinners are complemented by the expansive, sparkling African night sky.
Its stunning location makes Madikwe River Lodge the ideal venue to host intimate wedding ceremonies or a venue with a difference for small conferencing or incentive packages.
There are three venues available for conferences and incentive getaways. These venues can host between 8 and 25 delegates.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the main lodge, although Boma dinners and Bush dinners can be organised by prior arrangement.
Accommodation is offered in 16 chalets, sleeping 32 adults and 12 children. Three double rooms (king size beds), six twin rooms, six family rooms (twin beds and additional sleeper couch) and one comfortable suite are available.
The sixteen secluded split-level thatched chalets surround the main lodge. The chalets are individually decorated and reflect their African heritage. Guest comforts include an en-suite bathroom, a romantic outside shower, a full range of guest amenities, a private lounge and wooden deck. The decks overlook the stunning forest and gently flowing river.
